Due to the increased interest in liquid-filled capsules, the need for reliable sealing methods for liquid filling has become critical. Qualicaps® has developed innovative machinery to meet the need, called HICAPSEAL (S-40 and S-100). These machines are fully automated and can seal capsules filled with liquids of varying viscosities.
Ideal for sealing gelatin and hypromellose two-piece capsules, HICAPSEAL equipment is commercial-accepted and proven technology. The double-band sealing technique ensures that if an air bubble or unevenness occurs in the first band, it will be eliminated by the second application, making the HICAPSEAL a critical component for a leak-free product.
A dosage delivery system is only as strong as its seal. In addition to isolating contents inside the capsule, capsule banding has several end benefits:
- Assures the user that their dosage has been free of tampering
- Helps reduce the likelihood of the product being counterfeited
- Easy to visually inspect
- Adds mechanical strength to the capsule

Combination filling and sealing machines, such as the FS, are available. Combination machines save:
- Space – the combined machine takes up less space than two individual units because several duplicate components have been removed
- Money – the cost of the new FS combination machine is less than that of purchasing each machine separately
- Labor – the FS needs only one operator instead of two that would be required to operate the filling machine and sealing machine separately
